Bracciano

As with the rest of “Castelli Romani” region, Bracciano is situated on a hill of volcanic origin.  Surrounded by the beautiful Roman countryside and some stunning views you can also find landmarks of particular historic interest, such as the ancient Roman aqueduct which was originally built in 109 by the Emperor Trajan.   This channelled water from the Lake of Bracciano to the Trastevere district of Rome.

Bracciano is about 39km away from Rome, in the North-East.  You can get there easily by bus from Via Lepanto, or of course by car.
Trains from Ostense, Termini or Tiburtina station go directly to Bracciano.

If you visit the area for a day trip the nearby medieval village of Anguillara Sabazia is also worth planning into the itinerary.  Aside from its characteristic architecture and well preserved ambience it offers a splendid panoramic view over the lake and countryside.
